The DyNaMo project was selected for financing by the International Cooperation Programme for the Promotion of Scientific and Technological Research of the European Union and Mexico.
“The specific objective of the programme is to promote Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Mexico and the EU member countries in the sectors covered by the Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement EU-Mexico, creating the conditions for improving the participation of Mexico in research, technological development and innovation programmes that make up the European Research Space of the EU, especially the 7th Framework Programme of the IDT, prioritising a local and regional development approach through the creation of the Fund of International Cooperation in Science and Technology (FONCICYT).”
The DyNaMo project will concentrate its efforts on the probabilistic dynamic graphical models and its applications on medicine and industry. The goal is to study the techniques for the construction and conception of this kind of models as well as the inference algorithms associated with probabilistic dynamic models. The developed technology will be applied to specific problems such as: cost-effectiveness of vaccines, prognostic, and selection of drugs combination against HIV virus. On the industry, the technology will be applied to complex problems where decision-making is critical (e.g. because of safety, effectiveness or environmental impact).
The consortium of the DyNaMo project is composed of 11 organisms (9 members and 2 collaborators). These organisms are the following:
Instituto Nacional de Astrofísica Optica y Electrónica, Mexico (Coordinator)
Instituto de Investigaciones Eléctricas, Mexico (member)
Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, Spain (member)
Probayes, France (member)
Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, campus Mexico city, Mexico (member)
University of Dundee, United Kingdom (member)
Radboud University Nijmegen, Netherlands (member)
University of Toronto, Canada (collaborator)
Instituto Superior Tecnico, Portugal (collaborator)
Agencia Latín Entralgo, Spain (member)
